What are you worth?

If I asked you the question “what are you worth?,” how would you answer? How much do you think you’re worth?

Some let themselves be defined by the price others put on their lives or bodies… a prostitute by the price a client must pay for his/her body, a slave by his/her market price. These extremely sad examples give us heavy hearts.

Yet… quite often, we too allow ourselves to be defined by the price others put on our lives. We evaluate ourselves by their measurement criteria and forget that the true measure, the real price… God Himself has determined.

The real price is God being separated from Himself. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit decided together…

• That God would become man in the person of Jesus. (see the Bible, Philippians 2:5-8) Here’s a part of this passage, personalized for you: “Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men, in your likeness.”
• That Jesus would come to pay a ransom, to pay a price…the price for your liberty. (see the Bible, 1 Timothy 2:5-6)  “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all… for you.”

The price of your redemption is Jesus’s sacrifice on the cross, His death. You have such immense value that your price is… incalculable.

You are worth much more than others say or what you yourself could imagine. Yes, you’re priceless in God’s eyes, as this song by for KING & COUNTRY declares. You’re worth more than could even be calculated, it’s so great!

Don’t let your appearance, handicaps, or weaknesses make you believe that you have little or no worth. Hold your head up high… you are God’s beloved child! Walk as a conqueror!

All throughout this day, let God remind you of your importance in His eyes.
