What does being a good disciple mean?

A disciple, by definition, is someone who receives teaching from a master and follows him/her. Agreed. But what does being a good disciple mean, according to you?

The Bible, the ultimate source of teaching and wisdom, takes it a step further, saying, “A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher.” (see Luke 6:40)

Being a disciple isn’t just hearing the teaching and applying it, but it’s putting it into practice to the point of becoming… like the Master.

Jesus fully embodied what He taught, qualities like love, forgiveness, compassion, honesty, etc. We can see this over and over again all throughout the Gospels.

Let me ask you a question: Are you becoming more and more like Jesus? I imagine that you’re learning how to live in Him, and I encourage you to keep going in this! I know that you love the Lord and want to know Him more, as well as better understand His Word (that’s why you keep reading “A Miracle Every Day”). ????

This internal process of transformation that makes you like Christ is certainly not easy, but it is necessary. Cultivate Jesus’s character inside of you. Don’t stop choosing to live like Him… demonstrating passion, love, and compassion. This way, His nature will shine in all you set about doing, so that the world sees Christ in you, the hope of glory! (see the Bible, Colossians 1:27)
