Where can you find refuge?

Throughout the Earth, there are wars and rumors of wars, but you have a divine and eternal refuge.

“Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You; and in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, until these calamities have passed by.” (the Bible, Psalm 57:1, NKJV)

In the midst of all these tragic events, God remains God. He is watching over your heart and soul. It is so good to remember that He truly is your safe place, as you will hear in the lyrics of this worship video by Chris Tomlin: 

“I lift my hands to believe again

You are my refuge, You are my strength

As I pour out my heart, these things I remember

You are faithful, God, forever.”

God covers you with the wings of His presence and love. When you are near Him, cradled by the beating of His heart, it is well with your soul. (see Psalm 17:8)

In this world where everything is changing so rapidly and often without forewarning, God never changes. He is still God! He is a refuge, a fortress, and a safe haven. (see Psalm 91:2)

I invite you to pray with me…“My God, You are my fortress forever. I have no fear under the shadow of Your wings. Just as You cover me with Your presence, I pray that You spread Your wings over this world and that it will receive Your peace. Thank You for who You are and for everything You do. Your steady love is forever the refuge of my heart. In Your name, amen.”
