Have you ever wondered what many little boys dream about? For those who had good dads (and I’m sorry if this isn’t the case for you), in their childhood, they only wanted one thing: to look like their dads! To become “like dad”: handsome, strong, and intelligent! To do the same job “as dad,” play the same sport “as dad,” etc.
As children of God, it makes sense that you and I would want to look like Him. He is truly a good Father. The perfect Father. What could be more natural than wanting to be just like Him when you consider His incredible qualities!
- God loves unconditionally
- God encourages at all times
- God is faithful
- God is patient
- God is good!
And these are only a few examples of His incomparable qualities…Sometimes your human nature can catch up with you and your “bad attitude” come out again when you thought you’d changed. As a proverb in French says, “Drive off what’s natural, and it returns at a gallop.”
But don’t be discouraged! Whatever your efforts or attempts may be to look more like your heavenly Father, I believe that you’re going to be transformed into the image of God.
Indeed, the Bible assures you of this: “So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.” (the Bible, 2 Corinthians 3:18, NLT)
This work of transformation isn’t yours…it’s God’s work in you, by His Spirit! The more you spend time in His presence, the more you’ll look like Him!
You see…because God knew you couldn’t be perfectly like Him by your own strength, He Himself provided for this need by giving the Holy Spirit a crucial mission: to transform you into His image. You’re on your way to becoming more and more like Him! If you’d like, you can take a moment to ask God to continue His work in you as you listen to this beautiful song, “Change My Heart Oh God.”

Thank you Father God that You are the Potter and i am the clay in Your hand. Its my prayer that You have Your perfect will in my life. Your ways Father. Create in me a clean heart oh God and renew a stedfast spirit within me, do not cast me away from Your presence and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
