Who has impacted your life?

There are great advantages to going unnoticed and being invisible. My mentor, Dr. Dobbins, left a massive imprint in my life and in the lives of many other leaders. Yet now he seems to have been forgotten by most of the world. Even though he wrote books and did radio for a long time, his ministry and legacy have faded as his life faded a few years ago. His widow, Priscilla, asked me if I wanted his books and tapes that were taking up a small warehouse. Of course I agreed because I feel like I owe him for the invisible imprint he left in me. I will do my best to share his truths for many years to come. 

Has anyone touched your life in a significant and positive way? Was this person famous or familiar? Did he/she teach or coach you? What invisible imprint did he/she leave on your life or in your character?

The Apostle Paul once confronted a young protégé by the name of Timothy with these words: “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” (2 Timothy 1:6-7, NIV) Paul saw fear in Timothy’s life, and he knew that it did not come from him. He encouraged Timothy to fan into flame the gifts that had been transferred by the laying on of hands. Wow! That is so powerful. Every one of us can transfer fear, anger, wisdom, money, joy, discernment, and even the message of eternal life. We can all leave positive imprints in the lives of friends, family, workplaces, sports teams, and communities. 

It’s up to you to leave your positive imprint this year. We’re going to make it out of COVID-19, and it’s up to you to transfer hatred or love, hope or discouragement, and fear or faith. What spirit or attitude will you transfer to the broken world around you?

You can leave a positive, lasting imprint because you are a miracle.
