Who needs prayer?

What is the greatest antidote to anxiety and stress? The Lord knows we’ve all felt some stress in the past 15 months. Viruses, riots, wars, and rumors of war have invaded the lifestyles we’ve enjoyed. The Bible comforts us with these words: “‘You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.’” (Matthew 24:6, NIV)

This was not the first time people faced crises, disasters, and the unknown. Jesus had seen it all before, and He knew that this same litany of problems would continue to plague the world. Jesus even went one step further by assuming power over tough times: “‘These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.’” (John 16:33, NKJV)

Jesus is not surprised by COVID-19 or the political landscape. In fact, He wants to empower you today through prayer. Many people have complained about the government, media, or corrupt politicians. People feel helpless to make positive changes, but Jesus has three answers for us:

  1. He has overcome the world already, so be comforted—He’s got this.
  2. We may not be able to control the media, policies, sickness, or corruption, but we can influence the world through the power of prayer: “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” (Philippians 4:6, NKJV)
  3. Jesus can turn all the bad to good, so trust in Him. As Joseph once said to his brothers, “‘You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.’” (Genesis 50:20, NIV)

Prayer is not a desperate cry for help—it’s a call to THE higher power.

I remember speaking with a powerful political figure who was navigating the closure of churches and businesses across our state because of COVID-19. Many were threatening to sue our state leadership, but I assured this man that we wouldn’t take part in these lawsuits. However, I did remind him that “I will appeal to a higher power.” Ultimately, prayer is appealing to the highest power, Jesus Christ, the Lord of Lords.

You can do the same today. Make your request to heaven and watch the God of the universe respond because you can ask and believe for miracles.

I appreciate your inspirational messages. I believe I have an entity attached to me and it’s not nice. It torments me everyday. I need to be cleansed of whatever is keeping me from progressing in life. I do need a lot of prayer because some days I just want to give up. I don’t know what else to do. Please help me.
