Your heart is no secret to Him ?

Your heart is no secret to God. Whether it be your thoughts, your wants, your hidden desires…what you dare not say aloud, what you experience when the door to your home is closed to men’s eyes. But you know, no door is closed to God’s eyes. Does this thought scare you? Or rather, does it reassure you?

Psalm 139:8-16 perfectly illustrates this truth:

“If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. (…) For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” (the Bible, NIV) 

While your substance was yet unformed, God saw all the days of your life. The original word in Hebrew for “unformed body” is “golem,” meaning embryo, fetus. “Golem” comes from the root word “galam,” which means to fold, wrap up, wrap together. In other words, when none of the days of your life had unfolded yet, been exposed to the light of day, God had seen them already.

Whatever you’re going through, God sees it. Even what’s wrapped up, folded, wrapped together in the depths of your heart, God sees.

And nothing your heart contains frightens Him. The Lord loves you and will continue to love you. He stands beside you on your life road. He walks with you, day by day.
