You’re fearfully and wonderfully made!

Did you know that God created mankind? In fact, did you know that men and women were created by God? This is what He said about His work of art: “God saw all that He had made, and it was very good…” (Genesis 1:31, NIV). That statement kind of blows my mind. God didn’t say, “Oh my, I really blew it. I really messed up. I’ll have to start over.”

You are actually created in the image of God. Isn’t that crazy? Do you know what this means? I do. I’ve thought about this a lot because I had horrible self-esteem before I found Christ in a personal way. So let’s unwrap this truth. These are five truths that I’m sure will help you like they helped me:

1. You don’t look like Him physically. He is Spirit while we are flesh, soul, and spirit, but we are made in His image: “So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them; male and female He created them.” (Genesis 1:27, NIV)

2. You’ve been given free will like God. You can bring life and death with your words and actions. 

3. You’ve been given unique intelligence and creativity: “Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name.” (Genesis 2:19, NIV)

4. You were created to have a relationship with God: “Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, ‘Where are you?’” (Genesis 3:8-9, NIV)

5. You are valuable, and you have a beautiful destiny and future: “If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.” (2 Timothy 2:12, NKJV)  

I’d like for you to digest these truths. Meditate on them and make them part of your identity because you are a miracle.
